Chen, the founder of Chenan IoT, was born in a remote rural village in China. As a child, gazing up at the vast starry sky on summer nights ignited his curiosity about the unknown and his yearning for science. His feelings of insecurity when his parents worked long hours and he was left home alone also planted a seed in his heart—to use technology to create a safer and better life for people.

Growing up by the Ying he River, Chen faced the daily challenge of crossing the river on stepping stones. Despite the dangers of icy winters and summer floods, he never gave up. This tough experience fostered his optimistic, courageous, and resilient character. As Chen says, “Once you cross the river, the road ahead is smooth.”

After graduating from university in 2006, Chen entered the security industry. He visited countless clients, witnessing the aftermath of thefts and the pain and helplessness of victims, deepening his understanding of people’s urgent need for security.

Security is the Best Gift

A burglary incident in 2014, in which his engagement gift was stolen, made Chen realize that security is not just a material guarantee but also a sanctuary for the soul. He wanted to use technology to create a carefree life for people. So, Chen decided to found Chenan Technology Company. He was determined to develop a smarter and more reliable security product to build a solid security barrier for every household.

In 2014, when Chen started his business, he faced numerous challenges, including funding, technology, and talent. However, he always believed in his dream, constantly learning and innovating. With passion and a vision for his product, he traveled thousands of kilometers between laboratories, design institutes, and factories, experiencing countless failures and setbacks. Despite spending all his family’s savings and selling his car, he finally developed a smart camera with AI-based early warning capabilities.
